anyone think the submariner exhibit is a waste of marketing funds and its pointless?
why market or exhibit something that virtually everyone knows about?
when you say rolex, first thing come to mind is either the datejust uncle watch or the evergreen submariner?

they should spend money on marketing the oyster perp, the less known sea dweller or even the gmt-master.

Too much money? But maybe it's more educational. A lot of people don't really know the history or the movement?

I'm just assuming as I'm not in town to see it but I've been to these kind of exhibitions before

Like what you said only 10% interested in Sub history and its one of rolex's most popular watches. Using this logic, less % will be interested if its abt the oyster perp, the less known sea dweller or even the gmt-master. So that is more money wasted if you ask me. :s22:

why market something that is already well known?
how many people who owns a sub actually knows whats going inside or rather do they even care? as long they know its a sub, automatic, swiss movement can liao.

if they put more effort on the lesser known model, i feel the ROI is definitely way higher. at least people who are not WIS know there's something else from Rolex rather than just datejust and submariner.

OP is alot cheaper and it tells the general masses u don't need to drop 10k for a a rolex, it can be gotten got alot cheaper. Owning a rolex doesn't need a hand or a leg or both.
from someone that used to say a regular salaryman cannot afford a rolex and ended up getting 1.

the submariner exhibit is still kinda pointless to me. they can't even list the older model reference on the history charts or maybe i missed it.
walked in and walked out in less than 5mins.

the daytona one is something to me. i actually read everything before i left.

but that's my POV. ;)

yeap, went twice. there was a private event on friday, not even crowded.
saw some familiar faces and those people who are invited are people who don't give a hoo about a submariner. lol too low end for them.

i think omega/iwc/patek/GS did a better job than rolex. maybe i haven't been to enough watch events to know.

i think hour glass and rolex can do better with the amount of marketing funds and talent they possess.

they didn't even display vintage models/older models.

at least omega took some models out from the archives to display.

the huge triplelock crown is quite fun though. the display of the bezel is a good move because rolex have the best bezel action i have ever came across, nothing come close it yet.
