the positive news is they sort of listened to some feedback of a smaller size, but i felt the 43mm was very proportionate for a divers watch. this 38 feels more like a homage.
no complaints on movement as it offers a 100 hour reserve. But price for price, i think the 114060 (or the Date Sub) would offer more value. This will cost more than a Sub and likely sell for less. I would even go with your SLA017 over this.
I know i'm harsh today (not because Chelsea threw away points) but i thought Blancpain would show us something a little more interesting. Overall I would wear this watch but i'm not sure on the price point. Just my opinion. Be gentle
the industry is moving small now. probably following everyone footsteps in doing reissues because of the vintage craze.
i think perfect size for divers are 39-42mm at max.
people who buy blancpain are probably the ones who got bored of rolex/omega and want something different and when they do, they probably won't sell.
they could be the ones who can't bring themselves to pay more than a certain amount for a seiko.
rolex is aplenty, blancpain not so. whenever i see a guy with a fifty phantoms or bathyscape, he knows what he's doing, same goes for those who wears a JLC, GS etc.
