Hey all, noob here looking to get a pair of steel bracelet watch for myself and I need some advice. Only looking for a pair of said watch for less than $300 and I’ve decided on the seiko 5 sports SNZF17K1. After watching some videos, I've came to the conclusion that seiko gives the best bang for buck for the price point I am going.

Any Lao jiaos cab advice me if this is a model worth getting? And also where should I get my watches from? Lazada seems to have a pretty good deal for this model under a said reputable shop.

You won't go wrong with a SNZF17K1. Personally, looks-wise it edges out the SKX if both are at stock (unmodded). I have a super-mint (worn for 2 times) one if you do decide to pick one up, do let me know.

If reliability of movement ranks high on your consideration, then stick with a Rolex.

IMHO quite a pity though, all the closed casebacks of Rolex.. the 3120 movement is quite a beauty to look at (even if it is a bxtch to repair).

3 hander AP is not that ex to repair. is the chrono that kills because its a added module. chrono servicing or repair sure more ex one la. so complex the movement. even omega speedy go back omega service also low 4 figure.
3120 so far so good. more robust

Have anyone serviced their AP before?

What is the estimated service cost? Just found out that my AP ROO does not move anymore despite it has been in the winder.

U could have achieved the 1st holy trinity on this thread by adding a VC but instead u chose to sell the AP..

Its on their website, likely one thousand-ish for typical 3-hand service. Restoring the Octogonal multi- facets of the bezel and case requires more work than say a rolex, at least. Refinishing costs are separate.

How much for a Rolex sub full service.. almost 1k right.

For the price difference between an AP and Rolex, its reasonable. The AP costing a lot more to service misconception is still doing its rounds on the internet. Of course if you buy a 2nd piece with no knowledge of its history and get a few k bill for service, that's asking for trouble. Same goes with any watch that needs major parts replacements.
