To be frank, I think luxury watches in the tiers of PP, AP, JLC etc are one of the greatest hustles of this century...
Personally I wear these because my work environment pretty much demands a watch of decent “face value”(i work in HK) and if I would be perfectly happy with something geeky but stupidly useful, like an Apple watch or a garmin.

I have to say, for me personally i disagree. If one is not comfortable to wear such a luxury item - they he shouldn't.

An apple watch or garmin cannot be compared to a luxury watch. if we are considering only functional aspects, then any watch above $10 to tell the time is beyond logical comprehension (or they can rely on their mobile phone for example)

To make one Patek for example, does not take a day. The appreciation of the hand made watch and movement is more than just an intricate design.

This is my opinion only

Very sad indeed, maybe its worse in HK. That is 180deg direction from why Im into watches. Personally very turned off by such attitudes...

Nothing to do with cost but all to do with watchmaking , craftmanship, quality, ability to endure for life in much the same condition you bought it in ( with servicing of course), and more importantly personal expression. If personal expression is to showcase the geek side for example, I see nothing stopping one from an Apple watch.

I appreciate the guy that dons those $20 old square casio watches because it tells me he likes that phase and era of watches and wants to retain memories of that era of his life. Bravo! Give him the benefit of doubt that he has no personality to exhibit and just wants to stinge haha

If you think they are hustles, then why are you buying luxury watches instead of just 1 solely for face value?
It’s ok, sometimes it’s hard to admit that we are just vain... pat pat*

Wear whatever it deems fine in your current work environment.

I avoid wearing luxury watches to avoid gossips in work place
Simple orient, Kenneth Cole and Steinhart will do

問題是在香港那种精英群体中"狗眼看人低/势力眼"的社會。。。職员穿什麽,戴什麽,意味公司"表現/成績"在客户眼里有"幾撚得/幾够力一下"。。。所以買貴錶是在所难免的。。。

If job description put must buy such watches and show receipt or risk the 40% bonus and the promo. Life so hard

Excuse me, why are you wasting your time on a forum when you should be working on hitting your KPI ? You are more than 12 watches behind your target for this year !
