While comparing the differences between the Datejust, I noticed some details which might explain why the new Rolex GMT BLRO would not allow existing Oyster bracelets.

As seen in the picture below, look at the endlinks where the springbars are usually located in the previous model, compared to the new jubilee bracelet. Of course, it is all just an observation.

I do like the slimmer lugs of the new Datejust, and the longer baton hour markers, but I wonder why the roman numerals and the 'track' have been phased out.

New releases from Patek at Baselworld 2018.

5968A - Aquanaut Chronograph

Interesting option of an orange strap, as it does complement the orange accents on the dial.

5740/1G - Nautilus Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in white gold at MSRP S$156,800, wonder how it would hold against the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak RD#2 when it is released.

:s12:

Not a fan of the aquanaut chrono especially at it's MSRP of 57k for a ss piece on rubber?! However that nautilus perpetual got me calling my SA to put my name down the minute it was announced :s13:

find this better symmetry

Forgot to mention the subtle crown printed between the "SWISS MADE" on the dial. I do wish they keep the option for the hidden jubilee clasp, as I noticed that I don't adjust my glidelock on my Sub.

It is a flyback chronograph complication, though some would argue it can only track up to an hour.

If I had the pockets, between the 5740/1G and last year's 5170P, I would go for the 5170P. I feel that AP's ceramic perpetual calendar introduced last year at SIHH 2017 is much better executed, though I think Singapore only received four pieces (two at each boutique) last year.
