Look what just came in the mail! My preorder of the Dan Henry 1970 Compressor diver is here. For $250USD it presents an astounding value: Super wearable 40mm case(46mm lug to lug), engraved caseback, Seiko NH35 hackable movement, coated domed crystal and all-around good looks. The recessed inner bezel and the raised indices gives a nice depth to the watch, and the watch comes in a great packaging including a leather roll. Customer service was top notch and delivery was super quick. I predict this microbrand will go far.

Nice, I've got an orange one waiting for me back in office. Can't wait to get back from my work trip. I also have the black 1939 which I really grew fond of. Have communicated with Dan Henry a couple of times on Instagram, FB and email, he's a really awesome guy.

Dropped by two watchmakers today and both refuses to do it because it's too time consuming. I then went ahead to purchase a couple of watchmaking tools to try it out myself. Pray that everything goes well!

From the pic u posted.. Am I correct to assume that u want to swop the day dare wheel of that seiko 5 into the turtle and replace the stock turtle hands with that set of hands? If so here are some tips for installing hands..which you will need to do in order to do a dial swap

-use a dial protector when removing hands
-make sure the hands are installed correctly..do test EACH hand after install. Also note that u have to make sure the hour and minute hands point exactly to 12 when installing (of course the movement u have to set to 12 first), if not you will notice that your minute hand don't point to 12 when the hour hands reaches an hour marker ( most obvious at 3,6,9 positions). Oh yeah, make sure you synchronize the date change to the hour and minute hand too.
-use to rodico or clear tape to hold the hands. Try not to touch them with your hands or there will be smudges
- eyes level with the watch when pushing in the hands
- firm pressure but not to hard or u risk bending the hands
- a loupe helps.. Alot..esp for the seconds hand


** just realized you probably want to swop the date and day wheel and not just swop dials... Then honestly, setting hands is not the hardest thing you going to try

If you have no idea what I talking about.. Please go see more videos and read up first b4 doing the swop..
