My latest Grand Seiko: SBGH037. Mini review below
This was released as a 1000 piece ltd edition and is part of the 55th GS anniversary Historical Collection. I have been hunting this for months ever since I saw it. No watches have given me such a visceral emotion upon seeing it at first sight than this watch did. I finally came across an opportunity (very fortunate) to get it and just couldn't pass it up.
The radial sunburst dial has such an amazing depth and crispness to it. Coupled with the flame-blued seconds hand, which glides across the dial due to the Hi-Beat movement, it makes the watch look like it came out of the ephemeral plane. The geometry of the case is nothing short of a spectacle, with thick bevels and sharp angles all around.
The attention to detail and finishing puts my other Rolexes to shame. The Zaratsu hands and indexes are mirror-like, and sharp enough that they look like they can cause some serious cuts.
Words and pictures can't do this watch justice though. It has to be seen in person to appreciate! (Just like all GS) Doubt I'll let it go.
