Hi all, is bonfield ok for watch authentication? I usually go to JW but they are only open on Thurs and Sat

To ans my own question..

Called bonfield and they quoted $250 for authentication but i told them it was for patek. they said their service included checking database whether the watch was stolen and whole process may take up to 3 hours.
But i went with JW as it was a weekend and the price for authentication was $107 regardless of models. Took about 15 mins and they also tested for water resistance as well as lubricating oil inside.

Another question as i would like to make a purchase for another piece.
Same model watch one is 2010 and one is 2015. Both no more warranty and assuming all condition and papers are same but price different by $5000, would you go for the older piece? $5000 is roughly about 10% of the watch price.

I have nothing but good experience with John and his staff's services too.

Regarding your question, has the 2010 piece been serviced? If not, the cost of servicing may make the 2015 piece more attractive.

Both pieces not serviced.. and i checked that the servicing costs roughly 2k.

Initially i was leaning towards the newer piece as i felt it may fetch a higher resale in future but then i thought might as well save some $ by getting the older piece since i will still send them in for servicing no matter which piece i buy.. but thanks for your input anyway.
