I went to Hour Glass two weeks ago and was deciding between the Panerai PAM 510 and the PAM 1312. I had set my eyes on the Panerai PAM 1312 that day but had not make my purchase as I trying to get the sales guy to check with the agent if they are able to swap the standard size strap to a large size strap as my wrist is huge (21.5cm). When he got back to me and told me its not possible, but he will give me more discounts on the watch as well as discounts on the straps if I were to make the purchase.

When I went down yesterday, I almost made my payment till I told him that I wanna tryout the 47mm models instead. As my wrist is big, the 47mm looks good on me, the PAM 1312 looks kinda small for me.

Just wondering, does anyone has any thoughts on the Panerai PAM 423? I kinda confirmed getting it, but the downside is that the watch is not Automatic, no date and also it does not has the Quick Strap Change pins.

I used to own a 111 and a 372. Never like the automatic ones. As they are too thick. Panerai is quite easy and fun to wind.
Didn’t manage to own 422/423as too expensive. Love the gold hands as I think you will find them in the 423. Overall it’s much more impressive than 1312 if you don’t mind the additional cost. Have u consider 372 as well?

Panerai resale value quite bad one hor. And if u buy 47mm next time if u want to sell abit more difficult as it is big n more high end.

Explorer 1 if you're looking more for an everyday do it all watch.

Explorer 2 if you really like the white dial.

Personally I'd go for the 1.

Put both on, swing your hands a bit, look at them a few times, read the time a few times... whichever speaks to you, buy it!

I prefer Explorer 2. Don’t really like the numbers on Explorer 1.

If you can wear the 42mm supercase then get E2.

If not, go E1. You can try the OP 39mm black/white dial also.

I was considering Explorer 1 vs OP39 rhodium and in the end chosed explorer 1 because of its versatility and it is easier to read

those 2 are very different watches.

exp 2 polar looks alot alot bigger on the wrist, perfect weekend watch.

exp 1 more versatile.
