Buy what you like. Everyone got different taste, brand preference, styling etc.
Good to seek opinion on the watches, but do not let public opinion dictate your choice :)

You're the one paying and enjoying the watch, not others.

Buy what you like! If you buy a particular not so popular watch during the launch, there is a risk of the price dropping (more discount offered) after sometime.

You pay for “bragging rights” if you buy early!

Remember to post wrist shot after buying!!

Before we can advise, do let us know how much are you earning now?

From there we can calculate which credit card you are eligible and whats the credit limit for your card and finally which watch you can afford without stretching too much. ;)

$2600 before cpf.

Ya look at your finance first, factoring in if you want to resell your rolex at a later date, see if you're comfortable with the sum after assessment.

Also, with 10k budget, I would suggest getting Datejust or Oyster Perpetual from AD? Well within 10k budget. Unless you're going for sports model or president

my salary is $2600 before cpf. which credit card can i apply for and if i buy a rolex within $10,000 then how does the credit card repayment work?

There are some 12 months 0% installment plans offered, but the "interest" would already have been factored in the sale price (for dealers, sometimes the price you see is on cash terms only, if pay by card will incur some mark up)

I've only used those 0% installment plan, so the price is fixed and transparent. I shall leave the more experienced ones to provide their advice.

On a side note, 2600 before CPF, I would suggest being more prudent on the cash, have some set aside for investments and emergency funds first. But it's your itch to scratch - if you really like the watch, and so does your fiancé, feel free to go for it, so long it doesnt affect your lifestyle or cause mental stress on loan servicing.

Cheers

Not trying to diss or pour cold water, but having a monthly salary of $2,600 furthermore is before cpf, you are close to only 2k net every month. You plan to dump almost half of your annual salary into a luxurious watch? Can consider looking at other brands that would not require you for Installment. Anyway just for your information, Installment requires you to have a credit card limit of 10k if you wish to swipe for "Installment". Since your annual barely pass the minimum wage of 30k p.a, your credit card limit would definitely not be able to touch 10k per month.

I advise anyone who wants to buy a watch but doesn’t have the money to make a plan to save for a couple of months or years before making the purchase. At least that’s what I did.

My honest advice is to just find bargain pieces like a Seiko 5, or G shock, or Orient pieces.I started out with a SNZG15 when I started work.. You don't need to buy a Rolex to get into this hobby. I have one, but I would also be OK if I didn't have it..

Debt is a snowball that builds up easily. Seen a lot of friends collapse under the weight because they went too fast too far. Better to walk on secure ground. Cheers.

Possible to repay a $10-12k Rolex within 1 year. After CPF you will have $2080.

Just put aside $1k for the watch payment every month. Should be able to pay off with 1 year. I would say this period is the best time to buy, as the more you delay, the more expensive rolex going to be year after year.

Get a loan from your Parents of $10-12k then slowly pay them back... interest free somemore.

YOLO bro.

My first branded watch is Longines when I earn $2650... anyway you still can effort a Rolex if you have zero debt, you can try DBS black card, this card allow you to transfer to 0% installment plan without any processing fee. And the credit card limit is 4x of your salary, so good luck man!

Do take into consideration if your job is stable under the current situation. Unless you have good backing, else get something more value for money.

Maybe 10% of your annual salary for your hobbies.

2.6k gross barely just cross the 30k mark, not sure if its easy to get a cc.

different people different opinions, just do what u feel its right.

probably can start off with a mid tier luxury watch then slowly go up level.
