Thank u. U are much closer to my thoughts. Why i compare watches to cars is that i actually made money buying cars (rise in COE) but never had consider them as investments.

I am also thinking that I may not be ready for a Rolex watch yet. Point taken as well

Price in grey market is real price. Price in AD is not. Regardless of brand.

To hedge against watch price depreciation you can tag your purchase with another asset. Eg buy a Rolex and some stock of same quantum. They cancel each other out. After 10 years your watch is free.

for me buying rolex is to beat inflation

rather than money sitting in bank n see her dep every yr

Spring Drive is very sophisticated and for Grand Seiko, all services will be sent back to Japan. It is quite risky i think. If you like the smooth sweeping second hand and dont mind quartz movement, why not consider Bulova Jetstar at around S$600+ instead?

The "cheapest" spring drive on Carousel is about SGD$3400 there about....
unfortunately, there are very few legitimate shops selling spring drive seiko watches because everyone is just trading Rolexes and Royal Oaks

If there is a legit shop that resells spring drive watches please let me know
