Used JW before for vintage Omegas, reasonable price but long waiting time.

Just get those from Taobao or Lazada etc. Cost less than $30 and looks nice.

If you want a decent (and not overly ex one) purely as a gift, maybe a starting brand such as Mitch & Marc can be gotten below $200 in stores such as Taka or Tangs.

If you want, display boxes (inclusive winders) in a few $k are also avail.

I was also looking through Shopee's catalogue and found some at rather affordable pricepoints. Was originally skeptical but I guess no real harm/foul to explore those for now

Shopee and Lazada have a bunch. Good enough for me. Any more expensive. Might as well buy new watch
