Anyone have recommendations for a capable watch repair/service place?
I have a Girard Perregaux Sea Hawk ll Pro that has an in-house movement (out of warranty period long ago), the watch stops suddenly when used, second hand is extremely jerky, and the dial moves slightly when the crown is turned to adjust the time.
Brought it into Hour Glass (they’re the service center for GP in Singapore), they quoted me $1370 for a full service plus a one year warranty after the service.
I’m just wondering if they’re any other places or watchmakers that you guys use that can competently repair an in house movement? Or should I just bite the bullet and send it in to Hour Glass?
You guys are really a wealth of information here, and thank you so much for the help!
)Would anyone consider a Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time as a daily driver? Just curious about its robustness...thanks!
Rule of restoration is new to me despite staying ard that area for decades. Interesting... Near to k2, can drop by. Do they also sell watches?Hmmm, let me break it down for you.
If the movement is a in-house movement, suck thumb go back to AD / Official service centre for repair as parts replacement maybe required.
If the movement is a common ETA / Valjoux based movement, then you can approach any watchmaker
Like K2 - Mr Goh (if you live in the east)
