if not a rollie, i dont think anyone will feel excited and post about going to AD for collection.

these days people feels like they hit a jackpot to be allocated.

so true 5 digits is not a small amount. Miss the good old times when Sub was so much cheaper. AD need to thank us for business, not the opposite.

Well, with that kind of price tag, there are other truly haute horlogerie brand that you can support, VC, JLC to name a few. Reasons why people insisted on Rolex are simply due to insecurities - “scared buy liao others can’t appreciate” or for flipping. There is nothing about Rolex that justifies the price. Lack of investment in complications or other fine and intricate watch making process that is labour intensive, so they can automate their assembly line and mass produce as much as possible. You need to be able to call bull when Rolex says their steel watches are limited in production. No, they are not Patek or AP.

Saw this at Bright time... pricing was around 16k, was tempted to buy but kanna block by wife. She say even got box and cert, can't even sent to Rolex for servicing because its modded + I can't wear a watch more bling than her two tone ladies diamond dial watch.

Anyone eyeing the Zum R1 on Kickstarter?

Quite cool concept, with an add on module to the NH38 movement that allows the hour/minute hands to be split up - not really Regulator style, but rare to see any microbrand do anything with the movement. The usual thing they do is to use a Miyota with 24h subdial and omit the hour hand.
