Hi Guys!

Thanks to this thread, I have found an AD for the watch I was looking for and placed a deposit 3 weeks ago.
The AD said that it will take 12 weeks to arrive, and that "until then, all you can do is wait and we will not have any information."

I have never ordered a watch; is this the norm, for placing an order to import a watch?
And when is a good time to ask whether the Watch is available for sure? I intend to ask around more, if the AD is not even capable of securing one for me.

The AD says he won't even know when the watch is shipped, cleared of customs, or arrive in SG. He will not have any of those info. He didn't even Whatsapp me when he placed the order for me, like... that's the least he could do, is to keep his customers comfortable with Hundreds of deposits, right?

By no means I am rushing, as it will be worth it in the end... but this is just odd, in a world of information. Not to mention I know it's a fact that the Watch Brand has to have work orders, shipping documents and then delivery order etc. some sort of records for the AD. I assume the AD would not be so passive about their watches they order for their stores?
Sounds like a scam... I also want to put my deposit on the Daytona and pepsi.. don't mind waiting as well.

I hope not la... The AD actually situates in a decent area and around for a long time with nice reviews.

I just want to know whether what they are doing is normal in the industry, or if customers usually can get more updates? At least at each milestone, order placed, watch finished etc.?

It's very difficult for us to help/advise you if you are silent on the brand or name of AD... we have no idea if you're ordering in a limited edition Seiko, or some other Swiss brands.

Hi all first time buying luxury brand watch here

Yesterday I went to ION Omega boutique store

Asked whether they have Speedmaster (model is the one where I can see the mechanics at the back of the watch)

They told me sorry don’t have, please come back next month to enquire but we can’t assure if stocks will be available

Is that norm for the rest as well? Be it watches from Tudor, Tag Heuer, Rolex, etc if I were to ask for a specific model

Or it is really due to supply and demand, once demand is met it is not available

I believed your asking about sapphire sandwich. I think the old model has been discontinued, hence the out of stock.

Omega is coming out with a new model with minor changes to it. Maybe you just wait for it to be released. It shouldn't be that hard to get a speedy.

I think it's ok as long its wthin TS budget, the anal part is the ready stock availability that spoilt the mood of going in store empty handed, coming out with a nice looking paper bag.

Got the old snowflake SBGA011 for 5.9k from an overseas AD in 2016. That was before the GS rebranding. Don’t think it’s possible to get such a deal anymore. Happy hunting!
