AP RO need significant purchase history. If you just indicate interest they throw your name in the bin right after you leave.

not true.
AP boutiques will electronically put your interest into their system. no more pen and paper like ADs (AP pulled out their inventory in ADs already btw)
whether they decide to allocate to you is another story.
I have heard that people getting basic RO or ROC (not blue dials) without purchase history.
however, buying their dumb 1159 might help if you have 40k to spare

I used to have quite a purchase history with THG, but that SA has left the company. Will new staff care about my purchase history with another person? Or have to start from scratch

Yes I know that they store it electronically, but the effect is the same. You can assume that your name is not there if you don't intend to purchase anything else.

You'd be surprised to know now even their dumb 1159 not all models can walk-in and buy. I got an ROC without purchase history last year but only based on referral by a VVIP. Today is much much harder. (at that time you can walk-in and buy just about any offshore, and they're literally begging you to buy 1159)

THG keeps your purchase history and it helps. At least it helps your SA understand your preferences and THG knows whether you're a serious customer.

I'm not sure how much luck you'll have getting an RO from THG though. AP hasn't been allocating much stock to ADs and some of the ROs are boutique exclusive anyway.

Honestly. AP, yes they give you without prior purchase. If you're lucky enough. Heard many successful stories. Because ap is govern by its own company, privately owned. Nobody to answer to. As long the management approve. You will get it. Of course having prior purchases will help accelerate your waiting time.

Like I say. Cannot wait don't want wait. Go pay up.

No more AP in ADs anymore.
By 2022. Sale of their watches are all Boutique exclusives.
Good move by them. Pricing people out.
