Happy that it comes with a smaller size but totally doesn’t make sense cause it’s the same territory as the black bay 58. Like a titanium bb58. But then I haven’t handle it yet so maybe it is different.
If they keep everything the same and make it thinner without the date then will be perfect
Can't speak for the 39, but if you hold the original Pelagos next to a Black Bay, they are absolutely different creatures.

The Black Bay is clearly meant to be dressier, with a touch more elegance - the focus is the look.

The Pelagos is over-engineered, tough as nails, and Tudor's attempt to produce the most badass diver that modern technology can give - titanium construction, unbeatable legibility and the bezel, the crown and even the clasp are all clearly just highly technical and toolish. This is why it has remained as the last surviving luxury dive watch in my collection. :)

I personally don't care for the Pelagos becoming thinner, though I do feel that they could afford to make it in 39mm, and drop the date. Which they did, but the sunray finish detracts from the DNA of the Pelagos, which is why it doesn't sit well with me. I do feel it ends up making the Pelagos 39 take a step closer to the BB.. Not sure what Tudor is trying to achieve, but I suppose it will still sell reasonably well.

Haven’t add it to my collection yet but have been on my radar on it … was choosing between it and the Sinn u50 but got the u50 in the end cause come across a good deal.
Yup agreed with your assessment which is why I don’t get why they made it so similar to the bb58. Kind of cannibalising bb58 sales, as if we don’t have enough variation of bb58 already 😂

I am guessing they are marketing this to the ladies as well.

My hope is that the sunray effect is subtle.. But agree, it should just be matte.. Why fix something that isn't broken?

That said, I do feel that the Pelagos doesn't get as much attention as the Black Bay overall (maybe LHD had a bit more buzz).. But can't say for sure. Could be a pricing issue also.
Wanna aim the ladies.
Turn off. Both the bezel insert and dial is sunburst.

No. That is boutique exclusive and it's wait listed.

Saw 1 for sale in Melbourne boutique earlyyhid month. Ready to go because customer order didn't pick it up.
10% off rrp. Because of tax refund.
Didn't buy. No money. But sick watch.
