but the dial abit like ball style.

rolex sub probabaly holds its value much better if u r concern about resale value

there are just better looking models with lesser known brands for even better prices.

even if i could afford, i rather get a 2nd hand concord watch for instance.

i will take visodate over port chrono for 7% of the price.

port chrono is only worth under 6k for what it is.
not what 9k or 10k, the watch quality isnt even there

Hi all,

Been a little out of touch with watches for a while, and would like to seek some help:

I'll be travelling to NYC in a couple of weeks, and wonder if watch prices for some of the key brands (e.g. Breitling, Rolex, IWC) are cheaper than SG/HK?

I remember that HK has still got the best prices, but have not been updated for a while..

EDIT: Do know that NYC has the additional 8+% tax though.

the only newer model that i know of for now that interest me is the 41.5 skyfall AT. Its blue dial is really mesmerizing in real life.

Iirc the omega is thick. If u wear long sleeve shirts for work, it might not clear the sleeves. But the sub can cuz it's thinner

your concerns are justified.

a limited edt tag carrera chrono day date sells for 7.5k
f1 for 2k plus

port auto 18k
port chrono 11.8k

so...both are overpriced

Agreed and Iwc qc is screwed up...

My Iwc aquatimer in service centrer for 5 mths liao ... 1st was dust in crystal then scratch in dial... Have to replace dial .. After that service tech fd out another scratch defect , have to replace another part..

My watch has been in service centre for 5mths liao still waiting for parts..

For a branded watch , totally cmi.. Probably my last Iwc ...

actually by right, with so many issues, u should ask them to send your iwc back to switzerland for full observation and troubleshooting

maybe they might have scratched your dial while getting out the dust in crystal? but that isnt the case here imo

i strongly suggest that you also take the chance to get them to restore the watch back to original condition since its been scratched through handling.

"hi, is it possible to get your technician to do a little touch up on my iwc watch? i noticed new scratches that is not there...."

and get them to offer warranty based on the parts serviced...
