Correct. Reproduce below my earlier post on what that ideal watch is like:

1. net price around S$6-7K
2. versatile - will go with both typical office wear and casual wear
3. less popular/common brand is HIGHLY PREFERED
4. designs similar to Rolex/Tudor etc with large numbers on the bezel are out
5. online purchase is out - must be able to view/try locally
6. WR is not important - just wetness from washng hands/rain only
7. fashion brands are out
8. automatic

A couple more:
9. new. don't want pre-owned
10. don't care about resale value. Buying it to use, not buying with a view to selling.

Zenith el Primero, up the budget to Striking 10th

A trip to ion orchard or mbs boutiques will help a lot hehe

Believe me, I've made my rounds. Very soon, I will be barred unless I leave my credit card and my pants at the door before stepping in. That's why I'm turning to online resource like this one!:s13:

I've crossed out Omega because it is too popular. But if I do get one sometime down the road, it will be something from the Speedmaster series. Don't like the Seamaster because of the bezel.

Your watch may have a possible companion! Want to share what it is? :)

Yup. I know. I'm still scratching too.

Oh one more requirement: must have see-thru case back!:s12:

Haha. Zenith is currently right at the top of my list! But my list has just one brand now. I'm looking for competition for Zenith. I have my eyes on a Zenith but its not the EP series though its movement is an EP.

I had JLC and Zenith on my list when I was looking for my dress watch. JLC won. Maybe Zenith will be second time lucky.

those who are donning a jlc reverso, is it true that it's too classy to wear jeans and tshirt/polo with it?

Reverso go its roots as a sports watch, used by polo players riding horses....so I don't see it as too classy for jeans and tee :D

Ah ha! Let me research a bit more on the reverso. I'm actually more inclined towards the squadro although purists may disagree that the DNA of the original reverso is kind of lost here.

yea, i agree with that sentiment. and IMHO i think squadro not that nice. but also depends, cause some people wear the rectangle reverso, doesn't look that good. the shape of the casing is not for everyone.

for t-shirt, i think yea.. a bit out of place. polo is fine. t-shirt i wear sub or datejust. alternate between these two.

Well, I have been wearing the Reverso with jeans & polo shirts all the time. No one told me that its too classy for that! :)

Change the strap to other than black and it helps to "dress down" the watch too.

hublot classic fusion, although a bit less formal, but i think the classic still can wear with a shirt etc. but its slightly above your 7k budget, but below 10k if im not wrong.

You're the seond person to suggest Montblanc. I can't seem to shake off the brand as a watch maker. I use a Montblanc roller ball daily at work. But as one reviewer saud, if you use a MB pen, why not team it with a MB watch? let me look more into this brand and the portfolio. Thanks!

IMHO can look at corum go to ad check out go kl to buy! Or look at graham, chronoswiss
Corum ADC Challenger 44mm Chrono Rubber (Black) | Collectors Time

Graham and Chronoswiss don't appeal to me. Corum, I will explore more. Thanks!

great. but i am looking at the reverso duo face with leather strap.....not sure if that is of any difference.

:s13::s13:
try it on and see for yourself:D
Itf it doesn't have blings and stuff I think it's ok to dress casual with reverso.

I second Zenith. They have rather nice designs in their recent releases

Looking closely at one of the watches they released during Basel 2012 .....

I guess it must be the Espada series

very nice.

I am a sucker for chronos, so I am drawn to the Striking 10

and chronomaster
