After all these while of owning 1 rolex sub and panerai, I still have cravings for black faced Daytona.

The only push back is the price and the fact that is it a 39mm face. How I wish it can be a sighlty bigger at 40 or 41mm

KohChris can buy what he likes.

I really dig the Batman (Blue black GMT) too, but, it's more dressy than the other 2 models leh. Furthermore, it costs more. :( If the links were completely brushed, I'd be crushed. Hehh!

No support for Explorer II ah? At this point, I'm more towards Explorer than Sub but definitely willing to hear more comments from owners or enthusiasts.

Seldom rolex got white dials, the black Sub too common.

i can take ExpII white over the other two:o

Dmitri bro, so fast thinking on the next purchase after the pelagos? I would support the explorer since u already have the pelagos which looks pretty similar to the sub c imo. White or black? I think white is more unique but may be a tint more dressy. Got to try it on ur wrist man.
Hi fluegas, yeah, my Pelagos has barely been on my wrist for 2 weeks and I'm already looking ahead. But this one is really ahead. I plan to buy it on my next birthday, assuming finances and CFO gives the green light.

I don't find the Pelagos a substitute for the Sub C, vice versa. As for the ExpII, the white looks really sharp and like you said, unique. But the black is timeless, and more enduring I suppose. Furthermore, I guess I prefer the chrome-edge indices as they tend reflect light (I'm a sucker for something like that).

Maybe I should try both on sometime.

Between the 2, i'll pick the Exp2 for the following:

1) GMT movement. Very handy for traveling.

2) 42mm case with a bigger dial for the Exp2.

3) Didnt like the thick lugs of the Sub C, makes it look chunky & squarish. Factor in a case with only 40mm and a relatively wide bezel, the dial seems small. The older Sub looks more proportionate IMO, despite lacking improvements in bracelet, clasp, etc.

4) Not a fan of ceramic bezel.
Agree with (1), however I'm more likely to use the function for telling the BPL match time. :(

(2) The 42mm case does seem to appeal to some, but what really draws me is the new 3187 calibre, orange accents (1655 homage) and contrast to the ubiquitous Sub / DSSD black bezel look.

(4) I'm a sucker for ceramic bezel. :s13:

I have a black Ex II, as I like the GMT function. My wrist is quite small and I felt that the white face looked too fat; if I wanted to go white, I'd have chosen the older Ex II.

Best thing to do is to go to the shop and try on all the watches. That will help you make up your mind.
Thanks docomo, I hope you're enjoying that black 216570.

I too tried the ex II and found the lugs too protruding for me, ended up getting a gmt2c..
What's your wrist size? Is the shape also flatter or rounder?

Does the Pelegos look like a toy in real life as it does in photos?
I don't think it looks like a toy, but YMMV. I enjoy the sharp (lack of a better word to describe) features of it.

If the general greyness (titanium typically appears a little grey-er than SS) is what's causing that toyness you've described, then wouldn't that make DLC watches toys as well?

Here's a pic of mine:

It's a nice chrono to add to your collection. I think 39mm just nice for daytona :D

Initially set my sights for the PLANET OCEAN 600 M OMEGA CO-AXIAL 45.5 MM. But recently came across the Rolex Explorer II, Tudor Pelagos....

I like the design of all 3 models, unfortunately can only afford either one. Can I hear opinions from fellow watch collectors?

I will go for explorer 2 polar white face. There's so much heritage to the explorer.
