Actually i am also hunting for my next watch to buy in year 2014, with a budget of around 2k, maybe more, hopefully don't need to eat grass.

So far my shortlisted ones are..

4. Ball Victory - 1.6k new, interested probably due to the classic dial, and lume.

5. Zenith, Glasshutte Original out of budget. Maybe when i am older.

Zenith - go grey U can find something alittle above 2K but its Elite and NOS
ie
Zenith watches

Ball fireman victory - its like a dress watch.

I have to agree that the Omega PO price has risen quite a fair bit, as compared to the last few years. They are competing against Rolex. Omega's latest movement could be as good as Rolex's in-house movement, however, omega is still lacking behind in terms of branding PR.

PO resale value also not too good. The other PO with orange bezel is way too loud for me personally. i think they are phrasing out 2500 soon. I pretty much liked the watch from lu-ann, due to the classic design, but judging by the patina, and age, i might have to look for another one.

2500 caliber ones, usually costs below 2.5k. Omega speedmaster also not bad imo

obviously u dun know about watch movements..:s13:

are you talking about OMEGA's new Co-Axial escapement movement? i will advise you to scroll back about 10-15 pages... i think someone here posted an article comparing Rolex movement with Omega's new Co-Axial movement

experts are having reservations about how "good" the new omega co-axial movement is...

Omega coaxial 8500.. Read the article before. Well, there are few sides of the argument though. Though movement is very impt for the watch, at the end of the day, i would also need to like the overall aesthetics of the watch, ie dial and size of watch. Not a watch movement guru, but at least I am well informed.

i see... true... no matter how good the movement is. If the aesthetics suck, sorry. I'm not buying it.
