wanna check with japan watch buying pros here. Jackroad can claim tax relief of some sort? Do the shops accept bargaining? Thinking of hooting a GS but jackroad dont do overseas sales......

Also, is it stupid to go japan with an emphasis to hoot watch and camera lenses? Perhaps some bros here did before can share any tips?

Thanks arh!

At shops which offer duty free shopping, they will discount the tax amt from your purchase price and then attach a receipt inside your passport. Min purchase value is 10,000 yen to qualify for the 5% tax rebate. Some shops charge u the full sum, and then give u back the tax amt in jap yen.

Other than shops at markets etc, tsukiji pr ameyokocho, dept stores usually do not accept bargaining. Tipping is also not in their culture.

I did target to buy a preowned daytona in japan before but the exchange rate wasnt that good back then.

You can look for preowned stuff on komehyo website. They sell camera stuff too.

cartier santos 100. the santos 100 is one of the most timeless designs in that price range.

i'm assuming it's a santos 100 medium with pink strap? or are u talking about the pink gold version?

I'm looking at this Arbutus AR510TRWS, not sure of the local price though. Any reviews or any comments?

Assuming my budget is around this range, what other automatic watches can I consider?
