Hk is best place t buy everything except rolex.....there ur minimum savings is 7%....due to their country jot having tax....but if u noe ur stuff well...u can actually get lots of discounts....

Yes but to fly all the way there Just to buy watches everytime u wan one is expensive and time consuming....hk can arrange watches u wan wif ur dealer and fly there collect walk around then fly back

great watch, love the work put into decorating the watch. Blue screws etc. The Horween Shell Cordovan is great. Tahan water real well.

Its my daily watch btw Mon-Thurs.

Seiko is a great buy. Orient and Citizen are great buy too. Orient is part of Seiko group.

Pros and cons:

Buy locally = more ex, but local warranty support.

Buy overseas = cheaper, but you got to arrange to FedEx back the watch for warranty support.

At this price range go seiko! Try out used watches at forums.

i question iwc quality control , after my bad experience with their product

maybe its a one-off case where i got the defective watch. but they take so long to recitfy and 1 problem come one after another..

better check yr new watch before buying

I'm afraid that people have these experiences with other brands too, such as Rolex --- though of course when a company knocks out 2000 watches *per day*, there are bound to be lots of lemon stories. Sadly, IWC seems to be going the same way.

Maybe you should consider getting away from all of the well-known brands, and looking at small companies where you can at least expect that some individual has looked at your watch carefully? For example, I'm very interested in RGM watches, a tiny company in the US that employs 10 people and produces about 300 watches *per year*. Some of their watches even have in-house movements, if you care about that, like their 801A pilot watch.

But that's just an example. UTS watches consists of just ONE person, who personally manufactures and assembles the cases (though not, of course, the movements) of his watches, and the results are superb, if you are into heavy and chunky:

Anyway, if you go this way you are bound to find more interesting things than the same old boring stuff that everyone wears.
