At this price range go seiko! Try out used watches at forums.

What type do you recommend? I'm kinda interested in Seiko divers but don't kinda like the analog design. Looking for something simple with nice details. Probably just plain white on the inside where the numbers are and some colors on the outside.

Damasko and nomos are nice and unique. No love for Steinharts though - their designs always feels very wannabe for me.

nomos specifically is a Glashütte watch. to qualify as Glashütte watch is much like Swiss watch. in a Glashütte watch there are some very unique features ie blue screws, 3.4 plate, how a movement is decorated, some has swan/woodpecker neck others have a special ticking sound.

German watch no criteria. Steinhart much like Damasko used ETA movement. Damasko today does more on movement making modification to it and making their own case. Steinhart on the other hand source case from else where and assemble them.

Excellent watches, unbelievable value for money.... but too small for me. Where did you get yours? And what happens on Friday mornings? :)

the wear big cause the way the lugs are arrange. at 37.5mm not small, I feel my old 38-39mm Tag smaller. the bezel takes up too much room. they do have 40mm, dress watch don't need 52mm watch or those 48mm watch like my Alpina extreme regulator.

Friday - its Zenith/JLC/Alpina something different LOL

I fell in love with the Sinn submarine watch. Only Hour Glass is carrying it in Singapore. Anyway to buy it online or anywhere that's cheaper?

Thanks.

Wow. I didn't know Nomos uses horween shell cordovan for the strap. Those who haven't smelt it before, I strongly recommend to take a whiff of it if you can. My wallet was crafted from that as well and it's a real solid piece of material.

Received my Visodate 6 days after my online order with Ace Jewelers (arrived SG yesterday but there were some screw ups with UPS).

Indeed a beautifully crafted timepiece, no regrets. Now it's time to source for 3rd party straps

Btw, inside the packaging, together with the paperwork, was a handwritten thank-you note from them. A pretty nice and personal touch!

Circa 1950s Vintage Swiss Watches

Hi,

Two more watches finished with restoration.
IMAG0216.jpg

1950s CYMA

The CYMA piece has a unique dial and it age nicely. Typical Late 1940s and Early 1950s watches has second hand at six.
IMAG0215.jpg

1950s TITUS

The TITUS is a solid 9ct Pink/ Rose Gold Watch, they do not make them now but now only the high end watches made them in Pink/ Rose Solid Gold or sometimes two tone, they like to call it.

If you're after the more common models like U1, U1 SDR, I'd suggest you just go for preowned from the usual few local watch forums.

Alternatively, if you're visiting Germany, or have friends going there for any purpose at all, you can perhaps ask them to buy it on your behalf, I understand that the watch is significantly cheaper there.

``Dress watch''?! Please, they are way too nice to be called that.... hmm... perhaps I should consider them again. The tangomat I mean.
