What's wrong with manual-wind? Some pple find it a chore to wind, some don't. It's just a matter of preference... it's either you like it or hate it.

can never get distracted with the 40-50 turns.

If you wind a watch daily, do you think the gaskets will last too?

Moreover, a manual wind watch draws from its power reserve, resulting in less torque as time passes to drive the balance wheel to keep up the bph, resulting in less accuracy as time passes.

An automatic watch charges up its power reserve, resulting in more torque as time passes.

A watch with low power has low accuracy.

Last but not least, an automatic watch is also a manual wind watch, but a manual wind is not an automatic.

Therefore, think about it in this way - manual wind watch with an additonal wrist-motion power source

Or a pure manual wind watch only.

Thanks for the info. But is it really possible to break a manual wind watch unless you overwind it forcefully? I mean, usually people stops winding after the crown cannot be turned any further right?

Manual winding watches today have resistance mechanism to prevent over-winding. The same goes for self-winding watches. There is also a preventive mechanism in place.

I guess there is no right or wrong in supporting a manual winding or self-winding watch. What we are supporting is essentially the innovation and engineering behind a mechanical watch. No offense to quartz lovers.

Why did u ask this question? As long as u like the watch and can afford then buy it. The watch is for u n not others.
