What's wrong with manual-wind? Some pple find it a chore to wind, some don't. It's just a matter of preference... it's either you like it or hate it.

There is nothing wrong with manual wind. All that nonsense is a thing of the past. So bad PAM still make watches With unitas, it's a proven workhorse with great accuracy even low on pwr res. Alots of tourbillion are manual wind
If they are that bad ppl still make them today? Ppl that has not own one often think overwind is easily possible. U have to seriously apply a great force to kill the spring. The risk is there if one blur **** do it, not many if these ppl around today.

As for gasket issue it's build into the design. Want to swim or dive even for auto wind u need to get it check every 4-5 yrs much like any manual wind

I have to agree that ppl may find it a chore other just love the time feeling the watch

Hmm i am pretty much decided on the Chopard Chrono GMT 2012 LE @ 6.5

_MG_0239.jpg

GMT Master IIC TT

2toneGMTs.jpg

TT i was looking to it side by side with a Black Dial Daytona and Explorer 2. Totally no fight the GMT has too much class. In terms of sportyness the Chopard reign supreme. The price point is perfect it was retailing @ 9.3K at cortina but after 25% its around 6.5K

I considered the longines but didnt get to see any on display so will KIV any advice on where to see this

s.12_longines_grande_zb_braun.jpg

Unfortunately the 2012 LE doesnt come with the bracelet. Only the non LE versions come with the bracelet model. Hmm i am looking for a watch with a sporty look that can be used as dress watch.

ALA GMT Master IIC or Daytona.

The 2012 model GT Chrono is really a looker especially with the bracelet unfortunately not on display must be ordered.

I saw the this baby @ cortina chinatown point as well selling more than the 2012 LE (6.8K after 25% off)

The rolex explorer style bezel just doesn't go well with the watch.

I was quoted 12K for a 2nd hand 1 year old GMT master TT in perfect mint condition. Box , cert and tag. Anyone has experience buying preowned Rolex?

I decided to set a budget of 3k for my first watch. Any recommendation on brands that can fit the budget and maximize value? I would like a swiss made auto watch with brand recognition.

BTW, what are your views on montblanc/ raymond weil?

Raymond weil good value for the $ not many like the brand here I think
Montblanc pay a lot of $ for marketing

3k can get such chronowiss, well decorated good finish
Chronoswiss Klassik Chronograph Silver Dial

A manufacture movement from FC nicely decorated and finish
Frederique Constant FC-700MS5M6 Watches,Men's Maxime Manufacture Silver Date Subdial Dial, Men's Frederique Constant Automatic Watches

Baume & Mercier or Maurice Lacroix ( masterpiece collection if possible )
Zenith class elite maybe ( grey very possible )
This discontinue EP is in your budget

Most will tell u, Montblanc is good in pen not watch. :D Your 3k budget a bit  for MB. I dunno much about RW. The rest might help u. You can look at other Swiss made with your budget.

I quite like MB Timewalker Chrono UTC.

Frederique Constant heart beat looks nice, whats the price like for FC?
Maurice Lacroix masterpiece squelette looks good too. Does anyone know the price?

FC and ML are less heard off compared to omega or tag. Are they a $3k watch kind of brand? How do they stand compared among other watch companies? Design wise, of course they have really beautiful designs.

Baume & mercier has similar designs to raymond weil. BM and RW has the price range of around 3k?

Hi guys,

I have a fashion watch that I would like to replace a strap with. Anyone have any recommendations as to where I can get a affordable yet decent looking leather strap? Preferably in the central area or east side.

Thanks!

just realize FC see through face are all limited editions? so must be super expensive?

FC open heart are not limited editions
U can find them in your budget, u cannot afford the heart beat manufacture range. They are 6k after discount.

The non open heart manufacture u can afford
FYI they do make tourbillion unlike RW that don't.

U cannot afford ML squelette, it retails at ~14k. ML is one of the few company out there that has a inhouse chrono. Tag inhouse chrono is a design from seiko.

They are good brands.

MB classima 3 hands that kohchris mention us ~2.2k

That's expensive at ~6.5k after discount right?
Montblanc bought Minerva in 2006. Watches made with Minerva movement cost us$45k to us$260k
When Montblanc Met Minerva « Sharp – Canada's Magazine for Men

Still thinking of this MB but reluctant to part this amount. On MB website, it is selling about 6500 USD :D I have not check with AD in SG.

The perception of MB for general is, they make good pens... :D Guess slowly, they will change their thinking. 45k to 260k, definitely not within my reach.

Got a contact from europe who can get it. It's really a beautiful piece....v tempting. Also sold out in many ADs.

I'm kind of in love with FC. What is the price range for their classics onwards? And Which watch shop has FC?
