British Made Timex - To be Restored

Hi RWC (Regular Watch Collectors),

20130331_214553.jpg

Found this piece from the box of vintage watches. This is a 1960s British Made Timex (On Dial will indicate the country of origin). Later years, these Timex models were outsourced to Taiwan and then Philippines. This is typical classic Gents Timex Watch. Manual winding. It is in a pretty bad shape situation. I will try to restore it since I have a bit of time after working on a long photography project in England. Keep watching this space.

anyone know where i can try out junghans watches in singapore?

i am particularly interested in their max bill series, who goes for about 1k++ sgd online

i hear of a watchwerkz but it seems they are online retailer? and their prices appear a lot steeper than what u can get online.

many thanks in advance!

Watchwerkz is the sg AD if I'm not wrong.

Heard that junhans is opening a boutique in sg this year. They are slowly making their presence into Asian having opened a few stores last year.

patryn bro, i heard switzerland prices may not be cheaper than SG leh for rolex. wat i heard is that those rolex pieces are really MADE IN SWITZERLAND (every single thing all done in switzerland) as compared to the ones in SG where certain operations may happen elsewhere. is this true???
I seriously dunno who can answer that question but frankly I don't see any logic for doing so.

Actually, I heard of this too. To qualify for "Swiss Made", there is no need for 100% of the parts to be made in Switzerland. Those in Switzerland have 100% parts from Switzerland.

It's somewhat true. But to have everything 100% made and assembled in Switzerland would add many many times more to the cost (cost of living in Switzerland is High!). How much more can rolex sell the watch in Switzerland to cover the additional costs? That's why I dun buy the story. Makes no commercial reason.
