Some how that EXP2 looks like a plain jane compare to those DJ & DJ2. Maybe it's because of those fluted dial on the DJ that makes them more bling and attractive!

I wished!!! ... only the Exp2 and the DJ2 are mine. That pink gold Day-Date belongs to my sis and the tt Ladies 31 is for my mom.

U are spot on!!! My initial intention was to go for the white dial Exp2. In the midst of all that bling, the white dial Exp2 looks even more plane jane than the black dial. I was quite disappointed as it looks better in the pics. The warm lighting in the shop made it look worse. Factor in all the negative comments from everyone (including the salesman) and i ended up with the black dial Exp2 instead.

I can get a 30% discount for Rolex, but does anyone know if prices in Europe are even lower? I was in Paris and London last month but the prices are almost on par with Singapore.
But I've heard my friend saying that prices in Zurich are even lower? And even Japan due to the weak yen.

So wondering if I should get it in Europe or just locally with the 30% discount.

I did not do a comparison between the 2 pieces in terms of price but i dont think there will be any difference.

Prices in Europe CAN BE lower than Singapore, depending on which part of Europe. If u want to pay more than what u'll have to in Singapore, buy your Rolex in Switzerland. If u want to pay less, then u can shop in Amsterdam, France and Belgium (there are others as well). If u want to pay even less, then please head to Italy. Apart from some discounts, the main contributing factor to the lower pricing is the VAT refund (very very important). Most countries in Europe has a VAT rate of 21% (19.6% in France). Depending on the country, retailer, value of the product, refund in cash or back to credit card, u can get a VAT refund of 12% to 15%. In Italy, u can get back even more!!! The truth is, if the product exceeds a certain value, we are supposed to get back the full refund MINUS the admin fee (which isnt a huge figure). Unfortunately, most of these dealers are greedy and they will only give u back an amount minus their own profits.

Nice piece. Nicely finished, 18K solid gold with a beautifully decorated automatic movement. In addition, the winding is buttery smooth. If only i have the $$$ ...

Komandirskie "Tank"

Amid all the Rolexes and Omegas, pls allow me to share my humble Vostok Komandirskie "Tank":

A few things I've learnt:

• It takes two weeks for a watch to fly from Moscow to Singapore
• Komandirskies come in red cardboard(!) boxes. Thankfully, Zenitar wrapped the whole thing in bubble wrap, so the watch arrived safe and sound
• The Vostok 2414a movement beats at 19,800 bph, or 5.5 beats per sec. Seriously, which deranged watchmaker/engineer/designer decided to set it to 5 ... and-a-half beats per second?! Why not just 5 or 6 per second?
• The minute hand is bent downwards near the tip. I guess it's to reduce parallax?
• Date change happens around 11:50pm, with an audible 'click'
• The bezel is pretty useless
• The screw-in crown really wobbles, and it takes a while to learn how to engage it properly
• The strap is really crap. In any case, it doesn't fit my slender wrists. Good excuse to buy a new one
• The "Водонепроницаемые" on the back literally means "waterproof", but it actually means water resistant to 2 ATM. This ain't no diver

Beautiful bubble glass! You have to really take care of not bumping your watch against anything hard!
