hi, between ORIS and TAG, i wonder what's the main difference other than the design, branding wise? I'm kinda interested in the ORIS Artix GT Chronograph, looks sporty and cool. Wonder how much is it in retails or is there any special discount if buy str8 from ORIS dealer. Age 24 here looking for my 2nd watch. Currently wearing a Tissot V8 chronograph btw..

Ah. I see. I don't dive, and wasn't testing it! Just swimming, and the occasional sport. But I'm positive that it was built to endure such conditions, so I'm not really worried. It's only the steel parts and the bezel that risk hairline scratches I think. Not sure if it can be polished out.

Yes but just how many Singaporeans risk even scratching a $10-15K watch, much less even bringing one out to the sea to test out its deep diving capabilities.

Used to have a Tag when I was back in secondary school. Was a gift from my aunt -- no way my mum was going to buy that for me. That F1 Tag with a red dial. Those memories.

I tend to prefer dress watches, though I appreciate the appeal of the diving watch.

I've always liked the Daytona, and the AP Royal Oak in stainless steel/rose gold, and if I had the $, I'd get them.

Anyway, here's part of my humble collection. Quite an old photo, and have acquired a couple more watches.

From left to right:

1. Breguet 5317PT tourbillon in platinum, with brown crocodile strap — a casual watch (because of its slightly larger case size)

2. Rolex Submariner 16610 with James Bond NATO strap — the go to watch for swimming and sports

3. Patek Philippe Calatrava in yellow gold, with black crocodile strap — for black tie events and cocktail parties

4. International Watch Company (IWC) Perpetual Calendar (with chronograph and moon-phase indicator) in yellow gold — the business watch

5. Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Date in rose gold, with brown horn-back alligator strap and red lining — for most occasions

You can get IWC Perpetual and PP but no money to get Daytona and AP ROO? Are you kidding me? :s22: They cost a lot lesser than some of your collection.

Because I like those more than the Daytona and AP. Limited means, and so have to budget my money accordingly. LOL.

Which is why when I was looking for a sports watch, I chose the Submariner instead of the Daytona. Cheaper.

Setting your life priorities right is more important, like paying off your home loan, etc.
What's the point of having a Patek when you are still deep in loan! Am I right? :)

Word. Don't even have any credit cards. I find it weird to spend when one knows one doesn't have $.

erm why do u equate, having credit card = no money ?

I got the $ to pay outright but I choose to use card for the rebates and points I can accumulate. One just needs to know how to spend within their own means

I don't equate having credit card as being equivalent to having no $ :) I know where you're coming from, and I agree.

Know of many people who live on credit and borrowed money, and credit cards help fuel their purchases.

I don't get credit cards 'cause I don't really need them. I'm cool with a debit card. My partner has CCs and she uses them when using a CC allows for discounts at various restaurants.

I just realise my sinn 556a watch surface is not flush. One side of the glass is protruding out while the other side is not. Is this normal or can get it fixed?
