this is the problem which puts me off about watches. NOt only the positioning of the watch on the wrist but also, the leather strap got loose less than a month of wearing & it cant be adjusted tight! New tissots are all the clip type. Meaning even if adjust one hole in after slipping in & out for some time it gets loosen again. To no end. :(

Yattokame bro, you change cars so often , i assume u also change watches often? If you have watches that you do not want anymore, can you sell to me this peasant cheap cheap or not?

CHOOSE Tissot PRC200!!! Damn Swee! I saw it in real life, the yellow hands very striking even from a distance!! Like i said before, if i got $ i will whack arr! But hor.. the face bit small.. Are chrono watches supposed to have smaller faces than dress watches? Or the other way round?

My opinion is that the metal strap goes nicer with this watch.

Confusing, so experience must have bought a few watches

I got this issue too but its fine with me.
The AD suggest i can tighten the bracelet but i dont wish to.
I prefer some breathing space between my wrist and watch bracelet

that's why for daily wear i go with metal bands... only for dinners, AD&D, special events I switch to leather strap

I just called Fossil to ask about servicing my emporio armani watch.

$15 for battery, and $85 for replacing the strap???

Is this cost justified? Especially the batt...:s11:

Battery replacement can just go to any watch shops and should cost between $5 to $10. Places like Chinatown, Brash Basah complex or Bencoolen areas should be cheaper

For watch straps, you might be surprised to know that they can cost hundreds of dollars if they are genuine alligator skin etc. So S$85 is probably mid upper on the price scale.

But you would do better to get it changed at outside watch shops purely because you can get a much wider range of colours, textures and materials to choose from. I doubt Fossil will give you many options - probably only the original one that came with the watch. Trust me when I say that a different strap will give a totally new look to your watch :D

If you don't want to spend too much, neighbour watch shops or those at Bras Basah Complex will offer very affordable straps (but no guarantee on the quality of the leather you're getting). If you want to move upmarket, you can even visit places like Red Army Watches which offer quality branded straps (Hirsch) for prices that are not much more than what Fossil is asking for, but you get a wide range to choose from.

And if you want to reuse your original strap buckle because it has 'Armani' engraved on it for eg, no problem. You can use your original buckle on most third party straps that have the same width at the buckle end. The watch shop will be able to help you out.

Actually, I think that a pocket watch would be really interesting. But they are hard to find, except at absurd prices [eg Bell and Ross has one at over 40K, god knows why]. Do you know of any good-quality pocket watches in more reasonable territory [say around 3K]? I'm not willing to pay a lot for something that is really just a toy.
