IWC very chui meh?wanted to get a IWC but my friends keep telling me don't waste $$$ rolex better value...but i buy to wear not for resell...is the resale value that important?

erm, if u like the IWC just get it....u will end up with the IWC sooner or later anyway...even if u get a rolex 1st....timing difference nia...

There are always a lot of Rolexes for sale, especially in Singapore. Makes you wonder why so many people want to be rid of them..... so much for exclusivity.

IWC is rather popular with their pilot watches. If resale is not a concern, by all mean feel free to go for it.

You're right. Just buy and wear whichever you're happy with. Don't buy something with 'resale value' and end up unhappy with it. The watch with the best 'resale value' are the $2 ones from Daiso. Change a new one every month and you 'lose' just $24 per year. The watch will tell time as good if not better than the Rolex.

I buy seiko for 200 and after using 7 years, i decided to sell away.

I sold away at 140.

200 - 140 = 60

60/7 years = S$8.57 per year.

Cheaper than yours. joking.

most important is you like it.

Like my 25hours automatic watch... I like the design but my wife don't like... But in the end I still bought it, cuz I'm the one wearing.

but of course, general consensus will advise people (If you have the $$$) to get a ROLEX, because if you maintain it well, it will have high resell value 10/20/30 yrs later.

Good for you guys! Those who bought much earlier before prices escalated may make some money even if its just kopi money. The same cannot be said for one bought in today's high price environment. Anyway, the point is we buy watches, esp mechanical watches, to enjoy. We enjoy wearing it and looking at it - not because it has 'resale value'. I have two not-so-budget watches - a JLC and Zenith. Both have poor resale value but this is not even a factor when I considered this watch. Hmm... depending on the bonus, my next watch could be another Zenith - the Striking Tenth!

i aiming a TH Monaco or carrera and an Orient Star...

Daydate should be with diamond markers and daytona without. I opposite instead
