hi watch fans!

is it correct that van cleef & arpels pieces/watches are price controlled world wide?

where would it be more prudent to obtain this piece? paris?

thanks for your input!

Priced at usd$116k in 2010 at retail. 2013 price should be over usd$120k retail
They don't make these in large quantity so priced well controlled

Go ahead and blow your daddy's money on this hideous piece of tacky rubbish, which looks like a cheap souvenir of the kind sold to drunken Americans late at night in Montmartre. Just the thing for a self-proclaimed xenophobe.

took this picture 10 minutes ago :p

Hey hey, time flies isn't it? Recall we got it almost the same time last year and were very excited over it. It's also my "half" beater, rotating it with the Fortis Flieger.

I just received a Stowa Flieger 6498 a few days back as well. Really should have been the watch to get if it was offered back then!

thanks patryn33. i checked around. the real issue is not even price, but rather timely availability with limited supply & quota per boutique worldwide.

i admire the technical & artistic elegance of this retrograde movement. definitely makes a worthy surprise love gift - at paris' pont des arts, no less! :)

btw, it also comes with a fabulous diamond bracelet which adds another approx usd100k more.

what an unromantic & uncultured dunce!

you just documented your abject, neanderthal ignorance of all things fine & sophisticated.

just stick to your invictas. even timex & casio is too good for you. :s13:

Thanks thanks! Yap, using that fortis as well. Couldn't sell. Ha. But it sort of has its own charm afterall.

The 6498 caught my eyes a few months ago and I fell in love with it immediately. And this time round, I really waited for a solid 4.5 months for it. I recall we had ready stock for the Flieger No Logo with Date. But at one point of time, i wanted to cancel the order as I was getting just a little sick of fliegers and also poisoned by grand seiko (too rich for my blood though). Anyway, I decided to go for it after so many months of waiting and I hadn't regret the decision. The 41mm case is much more hefty and of a nicer shape. The Unitas movement is really exquisite too. Overall, it is as much a watch I could get for the price.

I actually prefer the Midnight Poetic Wish timepiece. But that comes in a set together with the Lady Arpels Poetic Wish timepiece. All in for a cool 1 mil USD :(

If the issue isn't price, then the issue is easily solved! Already willing to throw down usd$120-220k.
Fly to their Hq to place an order offering to pay more than retail! Why ask about price control and deals. Don't get it
