The novelty carbon/ceramic looks just as good with a suit, you got that right.

Wore it for a wedding just the other day.

I'm very tempted in the interim to pick up the Novelty RG, but I have to hold out for the open worked watch.

Anyway guys who are into cars. would you pick an Audi A4 quattro or the 520i facelift? Both are in the same region of 220-230+k.

nice watch....can sic damage?

for the beemer, was told the 520 is underpowered...really worthwhile to pay a little more for higher cap engine

Pal, i remember the ex-manager of lamborghini once told me this a decade ago :
"It's not whether you can afford it; it's when you can afford it."

I found that quite motivating though. Kept this at the back of my mind all these while.

Lovely. Spoken like a man with conviction.

Btw, found a lovely piece that caught my eye recently; anybody knows the ball-park figure for a Zenith Heritage Ultra-thin?:

Hi guys, not in the same league as you guys but would like some opinion on which watch to get. they are of different style but i like both. rolex explorer 2 16570 or tudor pelagos. both the price should be quite close. either one will be matched with a nato strap since my usual dressing at the moment is shorts/jeans tshirt slippers sandals and boots being a student.

Yea my wrists are really tiny, but it fits fine in real life. Don't know why the photos made the watch look like its covering my whole wrist. However, the standard size 48.5mm reversos are too big for me

That's over size their standard size was like 30mm
Their new reverso models are larger.

hi guys, i want to ask for opinion.

i got this seiko watch which i 2 years never wear liao cos i realize i really dislike wearing heavy metal straps. so i was thinking to change the metal strap to nato strap, or even leather. not sure if it will look good, or is it even workable.

Was just looking at it few days back. Sincere watch got promo with visa. Pay with visa additional 6% off. After all the discounts iirc is a little below 5k.

Promo valid for November only

those are integrated lugs/bracelets

cant run a standard sized nylon through it without cutting which makes it ugly.

u can custom a leather strap just to fit the lugs for it if willing to spend some $, but i think just stick with the bracelet. else can check back with seiko if they have the rubber strap just for this model

I read from somewhere saying that watches are not cheap in Switzerland.

USA, Italy and some Asian countries will be cheaper.
yeah italy cfm. cuz my wife's friend last year hoot a TH aquaracer which was abt $400 cheaper than SG, after tax rebate of cuz...

guess swiss not cheaper maybe due to low tax rebate.

That's significantly cheaper than I'd expect; this model's original price is ~SGD$8K right? Assuming it's $8k flat, a 6% discount will probably mean $75XX?

Or have I got the retail price wrong?

List price iirc is 6+k. Still got shop discount before the visa discount.

I am also damn tempted to whack 1 watch

Similar price would be the iwc portofino automatic.

But the iwc is eta movement while zenith is in house movement.

So it really is that amount "cheap"er, i.e. just for fun I tried searching for the series on Amazon & the one I want is going for USD$8XXX there; while a similar one with non-arrowhead indices is going for USD$4XXX...so you can expect me to be stunned (& still, pleasantly surprised) when you say the arrowhead one is SGD$6XXX to begin with, locally...
