Metal bracelet from Sinn via THG is gonna cost u 400+ I think for normal stainless steel version. I calculated even when order online from overseas will cost 300++ including shipping.

That's out of my budget.

How about some other bracelet which is cheaper? Recommendation?

I think the lug width of 556 is 20mm, plenty of bracelets out there in many styles, problem is the end link? For best appearance u need a curved end link that can fit the case of the 556 Swee Swee, if he's normal straight end link might not look nice. You can check out strapcode, they got many bracelets/mesh in 20mm and cost anywhere from 80USD to 120 USD

how about the lowdown of a steinhart vs stowa vs wadever re: authenticity, value, feel, etc?

the steinhart seems a better value proposition cf stowa esp for the plain faced pilots, given they both use the same eta movement.

but the popular steinharts are like forever out of stock in s'pore...

the steinhart seems a better value proposition cf stowa esp for the plain faced pilots, given they both use the same eta movement.

but the popular steinharts are like forever out of stock in s'pore...

Lots of Stowa fans here but anyway Laco's design is said to be truer to the original flieger watch design in terms of case finish and lug design while Stowa is more contemporary. Both aren't cheap with Stowa being more expensive, but I have to admit that Stowa has better level of finishing overall. For flieger I won't really consider a Steinhart...not one of the original companies that manufactured fliegers.
Personal preference I would also prefer a hand wound flieger to automatic...

stowa price is abt double of steinhart and stowa require u to have an fedex acc before they can ship to u. steinhart popular models is always oos and stowa popular models the estimated delivery time is always very long.. at least 4-6 months..

My first mechanical watch and probably the last, love at first sight. First know about this brand few months back, look around for watch to buy and couldn't get pass this. 38.5mm might be small for some but for my rather small wrist, I find it perfect.

really nice and simple... I also got small wrist. love oversized watches but look extremely weird on me, except G shock

You don't need a Fedex acct to buy a Stowa!
The reason we open a Fedex acct is because we can buy a Stowa at nett price (minus ~19% VAT) but will need to pay GST when watch arrive in SG. Fedex will bill us the GST and handling fee.

If you buy from Stowa at their EU price (including 19% VAT), then you don't need pay any other taxes when it arrive in SG.

Everyone can afford one only either earlier or later. If you don't own a car it is even faster. Mine is only a basic model of this brand.

If only watch hobby, then maybe earlier but still got other hobbies so later........................

stowa uses blue screws, handmade rotor.
Stowa case is made by fricker and steinhart unknown maybe china.
Stowa hands made by Swiss Universo, dial by German Schatzle
Stowa used Elbore grade movement better shock absorber system than steinhart which is on standard grade.
