If you see an uncle with several NTUC plastic bags filled with buns on the MRT now ......yes that's me.
Going to brighten some needy families' day now :)

Oh btw the buns are breakfast for others; I'm still on a grass diet. LOL

P/s ok theres a cute nurse sitting in front of me, staring at my buns. The ones in the bag, not the fat lumpy ones on me. Hahahaha
Just wanted to be lame.

Good job. Respect (except the nurse part)

bro, i always feel that for everything else, there's the amex centurion card. :D

just sayin. =:p

I disagree a bit.... Amex is not as widely accepted as Visa.. There's the ULTIMA Visa , more comprehensive and also hell of a service!!

well, the amex centurion was the precursor of the "unlimited" card, iirc.

anyway, iceflight kor kor, care to do a quick compare/contrast b/w the visa ultima vs amex centurion in your opinion?

cheers and a beautiful sunday to you! :)

Here u go, cheers to you too,

Centurion / citi Ultima:

Both titanium metal cards, Ultima a bit heavier.

Entry centurion via spending pattern on existing Platinum card, Ultima S$1M salary and/or S$5M AUM Citigold Private. Actually if in the high net worth category both offered to u easily..

Both annual fee above s$4k and concierge. Ultima have delegated relationship managers as conceirge.

Both access to some clubs, here Ultima wins a bit, access to Tower club, China Club and free golf for 2 at Sentosa golf club, really free!!!!

One for one tickets on 7 airlines business class and above for Ultima. Amex actually not so much benefits...

One big similarity, if looking at prestige , ironically not many recognize them other than it's a heavy card...no diff from any card here

just like I mentioned in the other thread......I still can't appreciate a panerai after so many years.
anyone can tell me what's their selling point other than it's big and easily recognizable?
maybe just not my kind of thing.

I too have wondered the same, and found this thread at WUS.
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f75/whats-so-special-about-panerai-311968.html

Seems to be their simplicity, heft and build quality that appeal to them. And that they don't mind paying a lot for casing modified valjoux. For others it is their ability to hold their value well.

I still don't like panerai though haha.

How do the different ranges differ door Tudor? For example black bay versus pelagos? I have read other threads, so just I just wanna hear HWZ opinions! :)

i believe many brands are just hyped through their intense marketing; celebrities endorsements, movie appearance which makes their price tag or their watches exceed more than the watch value itself :s22:

Actually every brand out there is hyped by their marketing engine... all watches are priced more than the watch value..

ok, rushing off soon to get my fill of handmade fishball noodles, yum yum, not so easy to find in s'pore liao - the queue on sunday will test anyone's patience! haha.

try the forum search function. folks here have made some great posts w/ pics on the bb & pelagos!

so here's my quick take:

1. both the bb & pelagos USE THE SAME ETA MOVEMENT, just that the bb's dial obscured the date wheel. the pelagos feature a date display.

2. the bb is designed w/ vintage & retro appeal, with its burgandy bezel to mimic the aged bezels of certain vintage tudors, the gilt dial, the yellowed superluminova lume, the gilt edged hands and hour markers, the snowflake hour hands... the depth rating is stated as 200m.

3. the pelagos, interestingly, has full snowflake hands and hour markers, and its case is constructed of titanium (don't let that fool you, it's not THAT light), has a stealthy, low profile vibe with its matt dial and matt finish of its case and bracelet... the depth rating is stated as 500m.

4. the pelagos costs about $1k more than the bb on bracelet.

5. the pelagos bracelet (the buckle is s/steel, iirc) is pretty interesting, as it features a spring loaded mechanism to accommodate fit/stretch over your wrist/wetsuit.

6. the pelagos bezel is matt ceramic (unlike the shiny ceramic of the subC) while the bb's bezel is aluminium, iirc.

7. the pelagos lume burns bluish in the dark, while the bb burns green.

both are classics in the making, imo.

cheers and a beautiful sunday to you! :)

The Panerai all looked the same to me....:s22:

Other than being big and look able on straps... The brand don't really appeal to me... Heard there was some problem with their movement previously.

yeah u are right, but i'm sure there are some quality brands out there that hardly spend on marketing and focuses on producing quality watches. Hamilton comes to my mind first, not sure if ud agree with it.
