Now that u mentioned, brought back my memories too...

During my time, that place was called Albert Complex. I still have the citizen watch my dad got me as a teenager and wore it until my mid 20s when I bought myself a watch after few years in the work force.

Haha my father bought me one watch once. Its a Mr. G-Shock. I recall i was around 14-15, and the titanium than was damn exp. So I bought the Stainless Steel, I still have it with me. Its damn heavy built like a brick.

get him a seiko or a g shock. g shock at 600 range got quite good 1. like the latest rangeman. after his jc can wear it go chiong sua also. i feel this 2 more able to stand the test of time.

ps: you're quite a doting uncle. rofl. i dont recall any of my uncles giving me a 600bucks gift.

I remember very clearly why I picked this watch is because the design is uncommon from most of the G-shocks around that period...
it also shows the current temperature and has a bar showing the ave temperature for the last 5 days.

speaking of which... my nephew just got his O Levels results and he did pretty well. Got 5 As out of 8 subjects, and I promised him that if he did well for his O levels, I will buy him a graduation watch. My budget is around $600
then just now at lunch time, I walked by this watch shop at Collayer Quay and this Arbutus design caught my attention:

Personally prefer gold watch on a leather strap. Will make a v nice dress watch. VC patrimony, PP calatrava, JLC, Lange.

Gold casing + gold bracelet is abit too much bling for me.
