I believe a lot of shops buy from THG via business pricing. At couple of my frens bought from PIs and found their receipts stamped by THG, at PI prices. Honestly 15% discount for Rolex is do-able for consumers.

The watch prob already bought w a discount by original buyer, who sold it to pre-owned shop on the same day. Pre-owned shop gave additional 15% discount over the receipt price which means the original buyer probably sold to shop at least 50% off his receipt price.

I don't think pre own shop if buy direct fr THG will present the receipt for resale. They will just list as BNIB.

Yes they wont. But stamped on the warranty card is AD with the date, post-dated.
My colleague bought two watches from a gray shop this way, and they even had tie up with some credit card co.
My cousin also bought this way from a grey/PI shop. Stamped AD and post dated.

I have seen pre own shop listing rolex w sg receipt bought 1 day ago.. Offer price was Immediate 15% discount from receipt price. So the seller probably even took a bigger hit when he sold to shop. But he prob just wanted to 'encash'
Some folks buy from AD using credit card instalment. If they can stretch over 36 months, even a "loss" of 20% or 25% is better than taking a personal loan.

Isnt it cheaper to do funds transfer...? 1% for 6mths...?

Many ways to get cash. If they default the monthly installments, the interest is for that month or for the whole amount?!

I too had an offer from a small watch shop in the neighborhood who offer me the same discount of 15%. Just need to tell them e model. The stock they claimed is from local with warranty stamped by a local AD.
Too bad rollies r out of my budget now.

Wish all e pple here a Happy Chinese New Year.

Always wanted a PP but it's beyond me now. Have been spending too much on my boys. Must also save for rainy day! Will wait till they are older before getting a PP.
