Love the steel bracelet on this one though. The design looks nice to me too.

say... that bvlgari has gerald genta's dna all over it... but looks like a frankenwatch with a nod to the octagonal bezel of the ap ro and the pp nautilus bracelet!

i say, go try the ap ro and see how you like it. imagine pp nautilus + ap ro back home in the same watch case. cousins!

Had wanted to get something for the missus for Vday .....had been stuck at home the last few days, down with fever so didnt manage to plan anything.

Sadly the attitude of the SA at the watch retailers at rws weren't very inviting. Actually found something for the missus but I'm not letting him earn a sale, although it's just a small one to them.

Got gf a casio sheen. $200 bucks siol.
I've never seen myself paying that for a casio. I only paid 150 for my riseman

I wonder how much commission the SA receives when they manage to successfully convince a Customer to purchase a watch from them.

If my livelyhood depends on my commission from the sale of watches, logically I won't mind doing se Ot or extra mile just to close a deal.

Scratches can be polished off but sports watches, imho, are okay to be scratched and tortured. Battle scars on a sports watch just look so good, no? Also shows the "manly" side - real man doing real sports with a real divers watch. If I get a sub i'd swim with it.

Dress watches, on the other hand, to be left in as mint condition as possible.

Which one looks better - rambo firing 2 HMGs and on one hand a beat up black sub, or rambo with just one HMG and trying to hide his other hand because hes afraid to scratch his watch?

Yes i also find the bvlgari a bit too busy. But the bracelet looks nice.

I don't snorkel nor dive. But I do wear my Sub to swim, Adventure Cove, badminton, cycling etc...

It's quite nicely scratched and I still love it. Sadly it seldom travel with me, only to Japan and Hong Kong.

I swim and scuba dive with my Explorer II (current model), not to mention exercise (cycle and gym mostly) with it. No issues whatsoever. It's quite scratched up, but it's made for that after all.

My friend wears his older 40mm Explorer II perpetually, and has been for 10 years. If he takes off his watch, you will see a white patch. He swims daily. Zero issues. He hasn't even serviced it once in 10 years! He's the type to use it til it breaks then get it repaired.

Another friend wears his Deepsea daily, and he's a car workshop owner who comes into contact with oil all the time, and more so, knocks and dings. No issues for a few years already, which is to be expected.

luxury divers are for desk diving & peacocking around niah. you don't want to risk any damage to your expensive toy while having fun.

for the serious grunt work and bashing about, i recommend the orient 300m pro saturation diver for about $1.5k. a serious diving tool watch w/ sapphire crystal. power reserved indicator, date and easy diving extension built into the bracelet. solid watch to take the punishment.
