depends on their caliber/movement design.

"jewels" in a mechanical watch are not precious gems as we know them, but synthetic rubies used at critical rotational contact points of a watch movement to prevent wear & tear.

yeah i know what people would say next: what about the metal gear teeth in watch, huh?

it's well & good to zhng your own toy, and when purchasing one, to know that it's been modified.

problems arise when people pay top dollar thinking the item is an original vintage.

because the vintage market is lucrative, it is rife with potential scams & chicanery, and buyers are easily duped as their market knowledge is poor/scarce/fragmented, and verification sometimes next to impossible.

depends on model ba. also, having more jewel doesn't mean its a better watch wor..

a fully jeweled watches only require 17 jewels.. anything more are likely "for show" and excuse for them to sell at higher price..

what e max and min jewel? I see most state 21.

Just recommended another old fren to buy a pair of rolex at my usual AD, for her parents.
What touched me the most is the fact that she only wears a $200 watch and is quite a saver - no car, no branded stuff, etc..... yet she splurges on her folks like its nothing. Total purchase approx $30k. My SA also quite touched and gave her a huge discount
