Hey guys, i cant decide which one should i get...
Both are priced similarly, about $2.7~3k
The factors that attracts me to the glycine is that its a 24hr watch (never own one before) and also because of its cream dial and vintage look.

The factors that attracts me to the longines is its moon phase (never had one either). I've had a number of watches from Steinhart and Stowa, and most of them are in DLC case and all of them are in black dials :s13:

So i was thinking of getting a new watch that does not have a black dial.
Which one would you recommend? Longines or Glycine? With regards to the brand as well as value for money.

Feel free to recommend other brands/models which are within $2.5~3k price range.

Many thanks!

haha i believe those non-swatch group members can always jump off the bandwagon and go for the high quality japs movements

For watches to have the Swiss made label they have to use Swiss made movements, so Japanese movements are out of the question. What many makers are switching to are sellita movements.

Eta's dominance came about during the quartz crisis in the 70s, and without their supply of cheap movements many of the Swiss brands we know of wld no longer exist. So while we may dislike swatch's move to stop selling their movements, they are partially the reason why Swiss made watches are what they are today.

Thats y i say generalisation. Hard not to be flashy w such a chunk of metal though.. Strictly for casual wear if u ask me..

True true, but with fashion these days, the line isn't so define any more. AP Roos with a suit still look good. :D

In the end I guess it's the overall look that matters, fact is not many of us ever need to, if any, attend strict black tie events.

If you're talking abt the 3570.50 (hesalite crystal), it's probably in the 6k region, while the 3573.50 (sapphire crystal) is probably in the 7k range.

To be exact; $5950 for the 3570.50 while for the sapphire crystal is $7200.
