Whats the typical price for these few brands?
Im talking about genuine ones. These brands listed as below, whats usually a good gauge about the price of the watch when someone is wearing one of these?

Patek Phillipe
Corum
IWC
Hublot
Tag Heuer
Omega
Panerai
Breitling
Audemars
Bvlgari
Roger Dubris
Piaget

Sorry this is a long list, im a noob and only recently became interested in watches, TIA!

Try to give my 2 cents since i was the one who recommended that u post over here. Its a really wide and diverse range of brands u mentioned and before anyone really answer ur question on price (which varies with the diversity) perhaps its more appropriate u can share what u r looking for, for others to give u the right answers.

Agree. I tried to reply with some price entries but found it impossible. Every brand has their different price tier so how it's hard to say.

The cheapest patek is probably the twenty4, abt 15k; and the most expensive, say corum, can be almost 6 figures

Longines%2BLuxury%2BMens%2BWatch.jpg

l26734783.jpg

Hey guys, i cant decide which one should i get...
Both are priced similarly, about $2.7~3k
The factors that attracts me to the glycine is that its a 24hr watch (never own one before) and also because of its cream dial and vintage look.

The factors that attracts me to the longines is its moon phase (never had one either). I've had a number of watches from Steinhart and Stowa, and most of them are in DLC case and all of them are in black dials :s13:

So i was thinking of getting a new watch that does not have a black dial.
Which one would you recommend? Longines or Glycine? With regards to the brand as well as value for money.

Feel free to recommend other brands/models which are within $2.5~3k price range.

Many thanks!

steinhart has some rolex homage gmt watches:

Steinhart Watches

look closely: the 9 o'clock position subdial of the longines features a 24hr indicator.

but know this: most watches at the price range b/w $1,000+ to 7,000+ are not really value for money because you can get the same for below $1k.

"watches that matter" to use bro chickenbackside's apt term, are currently priced above $8k (i'm talking about your basic rolex, jlc, cartier, etc).

i suggest you settle for a sub $1k watch for the moment (and there're many good ones like seiko, orient, steinhart, etc out there), save up, be patient and then hoot a watch that matter - a watch that will stand the test of time and retains its status and value.

just my take.

The Longines perpetual calendar is < 3k?!

the longines is an annual calender. it adjusts the dates according to the months, but is unable to track leap years, which is the mark of a true perpetual calender. you need to adjust the feb 28/29 date every leap year for an annual calender.

you can't get a proper decent mechanical perpetual calender for less than sgd30k. most are priced above sgd50k, with many > sgd100k.

along with minute repeaters, they stand at the apex among watches with super-complications.

the exception is the recent introduction of the montblanc's new meisterstück heritage perpetual calender for less than sgd30,000.

but imo, it has a dial face only its mother would love.

and while it pipped jlc's master ultra thin perpetual calender to be the world's most affordable mechanical perpetual, the jlc mut pc is far more handsome, elegant and carries the jlc name.

P/s ok theres a cute nurse sitting in front of me, staring at my buns. The ones in the bag, not the fat lumpy ones on me. Hahahaha

anyone knws the retail for omega speedmaster pro? flying off on tues, might go look see at the airport and see if discount is good.

bro hwaa, i was quoted sgd6k for the hesalite crystal version, and sgd7.1k for the sapphire crystal "sandwich" recently at the people's park ad. both quotes before discount that can reach 13% if paid in cash.

hey, give us a fr on your watch hunting trip, with pics of your trophy if you've nailed it, k?

cheers! :D
