Actually I got a questions ah... in the luxury world hor, let's say Bottega, Hermes and Dior...
they got two a few launch like Spring - Summer 2014 or Winter 2014 etc etc...
Watch industry only got one per year?
Big seasons yes, only 2.
Key is (Ready-to-wear) seasons Spring/Summer 20XX and Fall/Winter 20XX.
About half a year in advance, meaning present now, and buyers and stockist will do the "buying and ordering" then the brand will proceed to the production of commercialized pieces from that presentation.
But there is also Pre-fall, Cruise which falls inbetween the big seasons but normally not presentation like runway, just photo look books and not all brands do it. Normally much less dramatic and more wearable at the same time.
Then there's also Couture collection for women, made to order dresses.
For watches typically only 2 big events - SIHH and Basel.
SIHH are mostly Richemont group companies and a few others, where as the other big players showcase in Basel.
Typically early in the year say Feb for SIHH and March/April for Basel where brands will show their "new" or "refresh" models for the year. Normally the watches will arrive later in the year into market around September or so.
