Had to rush for meeting like 3pm. Neither here nor there timing so couldn't go down to k2 especially when opening hours 1-7pm only. Tomorrow surely no more......

It's a Paros leather strap. Just ask Mr Goh at K2 for a reddish brown leather strap and you should see this.

Looks real nice to be honest but abit worried about the size(largest on my wrist is at 40mm), thats why holding back. somemore I dont have winders and only have 1 hand- stowa and bambino keeping me busy lol.

Been lurking around and the Seiko FFF thing caught my attention.

I was around Katong just now and decided to swing by K2 to see the watch in person, thinking it probably won't look as attractive in the flesh, thus killing my itch.

So, there was only one gold one left and it was a K model. I asked to inspect all 3 colors, gold (K model), silver and blue (both J).

I was smitten with the gold one for sure. Within 1 minute, I decided I was going home with either a gold or silver one. The question is: is being made in Japan so important that I would choose my 2nd favorite color over my favorite just because of the country of manufacture?

I spent the next 1/2 hour inspecting both watches closely while Mr Goh attended to other customers. I came to the conclusion that I could not discern any difference at all in terms of quality and finishing.

So I decided on the gold K model. I asked to see some straps although I have quite a few custom 22mm leather NATO straps for my Explorer. He brought out a brown and black one. The brown one had white stitching, which I didn't like cos it doesn't harmonize with the gold words. The black canvass one didn't sing to me.

I asked if he had any brown straps with non white stitching. He dug around for a good 5 minutes and finally found one with copper colored stitching, non tapered. He said it's the last piece. I looked at it and yup, it looks pretty good.

So I bought the last piece of the gold model in the shop, and also the last non tapered brown leather strap with copper colored stitching. Being the K model, it was $175. He gave me a$2 discount on the $15 strap. So in total I paid $188.

In all my years of watch buying, I've never felt money so well spent. $188 for a in house manufacturer automatic watch with a nice beefy leather strap to boot.

Mr Goh is a pleasure to deal with. He is patient and doesn't bat an eyelid to pass the watches to you feel and see.

Now, the question is Yobokies or Dagaz?

bought the seiko skx007 (jubilee strap) today, i'm extremely satisfied with my first automatic watch purchase

is it easy to change the strap to a NATO one? also, is skywatches (watch fashion) a reliable shop? it gave me a 1 year warranty.
