Ok this is a gonna be a spoiler post.

I saw a thread in EDMW that I could strike a chord with. Few months back, I was very into searching for my ideal watch to somewhat celebrate my life of some sort. Got married, got my own place, doing decently well in my career. So I thought why not, look for a piece to commemorate. After all I've gotten mass market watches for various reasons in my life.

So I made a conscious decision to research, search, compare. Was a long half year before I went for my Pelagos. It's a fine watch, my most expensive single purchase till date on a luxury item. Obviously ymmv, but it was significant to me. So yeah, I bought it, loved it and of course still loving it. It's on my wrist now as I type this.

3 months passed, some sort if emptiness and guilt inexplicably set in. Especially when I see families that are less well to do and feeling happy with just basic necessities. And here I was with a watch that I wanted to "commemorate" something. Of course the easy thing would be to say "sell it away and give the money away to the less fortunate". I'm not ready to do that. And that's probably exerbated the guilt.

Sure we all need motivations to keep us going. But is materialistic gains the only way?

Just a food for thought on a hot slimey Saturday.

Your thoughts are all indeed valid.. But.. If there are no rich, would there be poor? If there are no differences, would there be diversity? If there are no incentives, would there be motivation?

My 2 cents, live our lives responsibly and 對的起良心 and count ur blessings and treasure when and what u enjoy (instead of feeling guilty).

Yesterday's event at ALS's boutique. Wasn't anything major, but just a sharing session on the different lines under Lange. The service there is truly impeccable, to say the least.

Some pictures that I took and to share.

One of the several signs adorning the watch showcases.

For those who prefer single malts over champagnes. The balvenie 21 was actually not too bad. Had a couple of drams before I left.

And of course the poison of my choice for the night. Billiecarte Salmon, one of my two favorite champagne houses was served. I actually make it a point to ask what is served usually as I really abhor certain brands of the bubbly being poured.

Then we go on proper to the event itself with the watches.

The Lange 1 and Grand Lange 1 moon phase complications.

The 1815 UP/DOWN. Seeing this watch and handling made me actually interested in it.

No stock yet at the AD. May potentially be able to broker something with another dealer. For me, the price has to be absolutely right.

Will keep you guys posted.:)
