Lately, Panerai is getting too common liao. Whenever i was on the go, always saw people wearing it.

Look like going to replace Rolex soon as the most popular watch brand here.

1st == the watch is really well finished, it is supposed to be made of Titanium alloy, but the reflective finishing is really surprising(jialat i will sure scratch it badly), not losing out to my other branded pieces
2nd == very light, almost felt like plastic, not used to it as i'm used to heftier weight of others
3rd == i guess everyone is raving on the "snow" textured dial, indeed very special, however it looked more silverish than white under fluorescent? i'll have another look tomorrow with natural light

Overall a very well made piece, as what I have seen from my friend's GS (he got a hi-beat), excellent subtle dial with a blue hand keeping it interesting, only unknown here is the spring drive technology which i'm taking a risk on....

I'm intending to change to a leather strap.... anyone got recomm for good alligator strap (pref dark blue/navy colour) :D

Forgot to add a last point, dunno why 七% not needed :vijayadmin:

Congrats, what a nice looking watch...i think the 7% may come later (from what I read online previously).

I've started to look to pickup a vintage diver too, but missed out on a Tudor Snowflake that was available over the weekend. Would you mind sharing more on how you know whether the watches are genuine or not, especially if it's from an overseas seller? There are so many fakes and Frankensteins around that it seems super risky to me.

the fakes have gotten so good that unfortunately its really difficult to tell unless you are a watchmaker. i'm sure you've seen fake vintage omega divers.

common sense is important e.g. seeing real pics of watch and movement, checking its not borrowed, reputation of seller etc. But no guarantee. but thats all part of the fun.

personally i'll stay away from often faked watches no matter how nice they are - there are enough great watches through the 60's - 70's to meet everyone's needs. To me this is the period of great watch designs and innovations. A lot of the watches today are rehashes of watches from the past.

Look like going to replace Rolex soon as the most popular watch brand here.

lots of "homages" too, the look has gone mainstream. the chunky size too. but they are still very nice watches, quite perfect proportions if you ask me.

Dont think it will come near to replacing rolex' popularity here. Perhaps for some segments of the market but def not the whole sg..
