Other than number of oscillations and directions, what else is there to a winder?

Dehumidifier? UV to kill bacteria? LED light to charge lumes?

I think part of the sales pitch is how their winder simulates human hand movements. I call bullsh*t on that claim! :p

Huh? Brown? It doesn't look brownish in the pic leh...:p

Probably due to office lighting.

During my time in OCS we are always reminded that "Rank os what you wear, respect is what you earn."
Same for watches.
Its not what you wear, but what you are. :)

Cheers mate :)

To quote a certain movie, "it is not who you are under neath but what you do that defines you."

got to say i love the IWC 3717, hoping one day i will be able to join your gang !

will let you guys know once the spring bar tool i order from zulunato arrives

i think theres a shop in Sim Lim Square level 2 which sells the Bergeon tool for 20 plus dollars

That's the 3777, not 3717.

Hooting something is like a hunger, once it's filled up and you get full, you stop hooting for a while.

Just before my recent hoot, I was looking for something to buy to satisfy the 5270 hunger, even considering the striking time Zeitwerk. Then I went to see cars and kenna poisoned. once hooted, up to now still full, never crave for much watches, eagerly waiting for the arrival.

Humans are strange or I am...

You are not weird bro, just rich. :D

Wao saw this model popping in my Instagram
Omega seamaster 300

140327_DSC_9111-700x350.jpg

this is a very nice design but its not original - pretty much a standard design in the 70's for diver watches. Nonetheless a very interesting move by omega.

mainly because they already had a successful design in the omega PO, but were losing a lot of sales to the microbrand divers who in the last 3-4 years had been selling lots of well designed vintage inspired watches (e.g. squale, aquadive, helson - with much better features/materials and value). also prices of vintage watches has been increasing due to rising global affluence and awareness of watch collecting.

I actually like the design and think love the watches during the 70's era. But the choice of the colour of the lume has been controversial. critics point out that this is chosen to give a false sense of aging - a "faked patina" - a blatant attempt to get back into the heritage divers/vintage watch game. (and rolex fanatics say its omega trying to reclaim a history it gave up LOL)

so no one knows how this watch will pan out - will it be seen as a new bold relaunch of classics business that will pave the way for other new new-old-style watches? or will this just be a one off?

regardless i think its a very nice vintage inspired watch.
