I totally understand. The first time I tried to change straps, I almost gave up.

Just have some patience and try and "feel" the spring bar. You essentially need to try to pry it out of the hole at an angle. So apply some side ways pressure as you compress the spring bar.

Once it pops out at an angle, you're home free. That's the only hard part.

I'm at the stage now. Got my spring bar tool recently and wanna try to change to nato but no matter wad I do the spring bar won't move out of the lugs. Wanna cry lol..

Actually, get the spring bar out is the easier part. Putting the spring bar in is the bigger challenge ... first few times sure scratch the lug.

Don't be fustrated, it takes a while to find the catch. I once took about 20 minutes to change a strap/bracelet. Now, it's done within a minute.

U will need to apply an upwards or outwards pressure while doing it.

1) use spring bar tool to push in spring bar to release it from the lug hole
2) apply upwards pressure to get spring bar out of lug hole
3) maintain pressure so that the side that is out already do not slip back into hole while u move on to work on the otherside.
4) use tool to remove the spring bar of other side.
5) the whole strap plus the spring bar should pop right out.

Take note that removal is the easy part. Putting it back is normally the harder part and when people lose their spring bars. Do it with caution, care and of course, some sticky tape.

Use some tape so that you will not cause major scratches due to a slip. For small scratches caused by the springbar, i guess it is inevitable. But tape can prevent this to a certain degree too.

Agree. End links are much harder to overcome compare to straight links. But can be done.

Never knew such a tool existed. Didn't even know of a spring bar tool. Was using a screw driver before reading the forum.

The first time I tried to remove a bracelet, I failed. Too worried about scratching anything. I got a watch shop at Tanjong Pagar to replace it for me. The uncle, did it in 5 seconds .... with a jeweller's screwdriver.
