Steady.....i like caitlin 2 right away......
Ok will see how to order when i'm back...thankx pal!!!
No problem Yatto.

You simply email him and tell him what you want. Once you come to an agreement on the strap design that you're happy with, PayPal him.

You may want to customize it a bit, for example, you may not like the little razor cuts on the strap, so you can tell him to not cut it up. Or you may like a different colored stitching or a darker shade than the picture.

Tell him your exact wrist size so he can balance the strap out for you so that it's perfect for you.

I suggest you look at the pictures carefully. To me, not many people would like the razor cuts on their straps. Other than the cuts, I think his straps are really nice if you're into the rustic look,

Bonefield at tanglin halt has 24/26mm straps for Pam.. Not exactly cheap but is good to have a feel of the straps first hand before dropping a decision to buy it online as this could be your 1st time buying Pam straps online.. If u do want to try it out, please wear your Pam there because he always say without the real thing around, it is hard to see which is suitable.. :)

I recommend to have a feel and look look first see which colour, stitching u like before buying it online.. If not u will end up keep buying to see which one is the best.. Hehe.. :)

I am back from my Beijing trip and now busy reading all the posts that I missed!

Yatto, good call on the Caitlin 2 straps, because I have it too, my 3rd ever strap! Haha! :)

Here's a photo of Caitlin 4 (left) and Caitlin 2 (right).

You can see the difference between the 2 straps besides the fact that they are of different colours.

Like what CBS said, you can customise the strap lengths, number of holes, box stitching, etc.

Peter's a great guy and his responses are always quick and prompt.

Good luck!

Almost all of us don't know how to actually do it either. That's why we pay Mr Goh from K2 or someone equivalent to do the actual work for us.

We choose the parts we like, buy them (just a few clicks on the computer and the parts will arrive on your doorstep in about a week), bring them to a professional to swap the parts for us. That's it.

Strap is the easiet thing. Can get it everywhere.

Noted with thanks!

pictures can be deceiving - nothing beats trying it out until you are certain which shape/sizes will fit you...

for mods most guys bring it down to K2 and just pay the owner a low service feed to open up the watch and change dials/hands/crystals etc.... but i'm sure you'll learn how to change the straps yourself if you like those cloth type (NATO) with the rolex picture.

but don't jump the gun, go through this link here, there are slight variations to the colours and so many to choose from. look carefully you will also find sizing info. good prices and local store in chinatown means you can order online and go to the shop and pickup.
Seiko divers watch

steinhart ocean 1 gmt blue/red is similar too (S$712)
SteinhartO1GMTBlueRed4L.jpg

this has a swiss movement with second timezone (GMT)

Hmm yes I would have to try before I buy.

I thought Bencoolen has the cheapest discounts

No thanks to Steinhart, considering I can get something similar for cheaper. Also Seiko has a longer running reputation in the industry so I feel more comfortable going with them.

Why don't you get that seiko then? It looks closest to the gmt and yes you can replace the bracelet with rubber, leather or the nato strap as pictured

The hands are modded though, the original model doesn't come with Mercedes hands.

I might just get it! I will look around (as suggested by a562140).

With regards to

I'd definitely want the Bezel to be that of the Rolex in the earlier photo (even better if the numerals have luminova (glow thingy) in them).

Can't seem to find the mercedes hands :(

Anyone care to spoon-feed me the links to all the parts? Looks quite complex because I would think compatibility issues between different watch models.

A short review of GMT in Shinjuku.

I think the shortest way is to exit by the west exit of Shinjuku JR station (西口 Nishi guchi) and you find your way to Yodobashi camera. I dunno how else to describe it but it's round the corner.

They also sell cameras - lots of them but in the basement and 3rd floor (iirc); watches are on the ground and 2nd floor. Not a big shop and can be tight but a lot of watches on display. Brands like PP, AP, VC, ALS, Panerai etc are on the 2nd floor. Based on the websites I think its not as wide a collection as jackroad. But if you're in the area, why not?

Actually was keen on a Zenith chronograph (the lne with colored subdials.....about 6.5k sgd? Preowned) but the missus and I felt it looked too small on my wrist so we let it pass. Didnt really have time for the other watches cos the kids were waking up (in the twin pram) and wanted to get ice cream (soft cream). I did see JLC perpetual calendars, different versions, one in steel and one in WG. Ard 26k sgd to 30+k. At this point the kids were kicking up a fuss so I had to leave to get them their soft cream.

Accepts credit cards with no surcharge, or at least thats what the sales person told me.

Jackroad and kame kichi are in Nakano - 4mins train from Shinjuku JR station on the Chuo line (中央線) if you take the rapid trains.

I usually stay at Ueno area because its near to asakusa, ameyokocho, akihabara , tokyo etc but I must recommend staying at Odakyu Southern Tower century hotel(long name). The southern terrace connecting it is a lovely place to hang around - like a park and not too crowded, laced with cafes(incl starbucks). There's also a connecting bridge smack to the entrance of Takashimaya across the tracks. Extremely convenient. And its also next to the exits of JR shinjuku station (南口 and 新南口). Will def stay here again. For a family with elderly and toddlers this is really a much more convenient location without the insane Shinjuku crowd. Really loving it. And the airport limousine bus stops at its doorstep.

Tiring trip again, just like the march trip. But it was a great bonding trip with the family (hence very little posts from me). Have already planned for our family trips for dec and next march already hahahaha.....
