1) She always liked ultra small rectangular faced watches.
- my wife's taste for watches changed after she saw what I was wearing, and she's now wearing chunky big sized watches, some of them mine!

2) Saw some postings about Longines being part of Swiss Group in SG.
- service for Rolex in SG also got complaints. Long time no go, but last time repair Omega also go Swatch kids lining up besided me LOL! For our info Swatch owns these brands: Breguet, Harry Winston, Blancpain, Glashütte Original, Jaquet Droz, Léon Hatot, Omega, Longines, Rado, Union Glashütte, Tissot, Balmain, Certina, Mido, Hamilton, Calvin Klein watches + jewelry, Swatch, Flik Flak.

- Will ask again where are the diamonds are from and what is the rating of the diamonds.
Be aware that depreciation for womens watches very high, diamond ones even higher ! (Rolex ladies your best hope if you are looking at retaining value)

4) Will check on other brands, just dont know where to look.

Buying a gift for the most important woman in your life is never an easy task but at the same time, it could be alot of fun as well

For me the experience is BOTH buying and experiencing the watch. The best is seeing my wife's taste in watches mature, going beyond what is called out by advertising and developing her own opinion of watch design/usage/fashion. It includes some hairy moments as well e.g. when my wife said she still prefers small and thin and that's part of the journey. I managed to convince my wife not with a conversation on watches per se, but lifestyle and fashion ... i.e. me getting involved with her real interests. In some ways i get more satisfaction seeing my wife getting more interested in watches over the years ...and each watch marks a certain point in our relationship so they mean something.

Due to cultural interpretations these won't go down well generally in Asian societies generally... but I couldn't help myself and got one just "for the hell of it" ....although in a more discreet design:

Ahh, I wasn't joking. Uncle is uncle. Not cool.

Anyway, my wife is an FM (yay!) fan. She has quite a few pieces herself, all in precious metals. But she's waiting for a big event (like wedding) to pass them down. For now, the girls are not mature enough to get them yet.

I for one don't fancy FMs...

Same here... my wife is also starting to appreciate automatic watches more.
