I'm actually looking at the PAM 048 and was wondering if it is possible to get it (in terms of availability) from distributors like THG or Sincere...or is grey market the only realistic way to purchase?

Why not ask from ION Panerai directly, if you don't mind paying retail price?

Grey is definitely easier, faster and cheaper. Just have to keep your ears to the ground.
